A few favourites | 2

I love discovering new profiles/websites/blogs/books so I'm starting a fun little bi weekly (or randomly, you know how I roll) feature where I share a little shot of inspiration of a few things that I love.

Some are beautiful, some are inspiring, some are silly, some are thought provoking and they all inspire or excite me in one way or another.

In our over saturated media world, it's nice to come across people who are standing out above the noise, offering something unique, even if it's just a beautiful photo of a new place I have yet to discover. Most of these offer something more though, which is why I feel the need to share it with you, dear reader, in case you're looking for some inspiration or just a break from the repetitive social media rat race.

Feel free to let me know about anything you think I should add!

A few favourites | Week 2

We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter

I just finished reading this book as part of my 12 book challenge for 2018. This novel is inspired by the incredible true story of Georgia's Jewish family separated at the start of World War II. They were determined to survive—and to reunite against all odds. It's an incredible story - harrowing & inspirational, full of love and profound spirit. I finished it in 3 days and cried ugly, happy, heart-filled-with-love tears. I highly recommend this book but be sure to bring tissues.
On another note, if you're based in Barbados you can order books through bookdepository.com and not only do the prices include FREE worldwide delivery but you can have books delivered straight to your door (No duties!) Yesss!

Pebble Magazine

Soca Girls Rock

Socially-Conscious Soca Lovers Doing Little Bits Of Good

I recently had the distinct pleasure of connecting with Natasha, the founder of Soca Girls Rock, and I want to share this awesome group (& resource) with everyone! I partnered with Soca Girls Rock for my first #GivingTuesday Barbados campaign in November and I have been following this group of inspirational women ever since.
Soca Girls Rock is an organisation based in New York that harnesses the collective time, talent, and treasure of self-identified Caribbean women in North America to provide technical and financial assistance to programmes, groups, and organizations committed to social change in the Caribbean region. They do this through their "All Ah We" volunteer programme and the Legacy Fellows programme. They also have a great partnership programme that supports Caribbean based initiatives.
The Legacy Fellows programme offers a remote volunteer experience where Fellows provide technical and financial assistance to a Caribbean-based programme, group, or organization and the applications are currently open!
